What's a Fat Quarter?

     A fat quarter is a one-fourth yard cut of fabric that measures about 18" x 22" instead of the typical 9" x 44" quarter-yard cut. The cut is created by dividing a yard of fabric into four large rectangles. Dimensions can differ slightly depending on the width of the fabric.

     Quilters love fat quarters. A narrow standard cut is great for strip piecing, but a fat quarter is makes it possible to cut pieces that are larger than the standard 9" cut will allow.

* What is the quality of your fabric?

     The fabric at Splinters & Threads is top of the line 100% cotton quilt shop quality from well known fabric manufacturers.  I am very particular to ensure that the fabrics have a good hand and a good, tight weave.

* Do you have it in stock?

     Everything is in stock unless it is an item that is being preordered for future delivery or quantity is short.

* What if you are short? Are you going to substitute?

     If an item is short, contact will be made with the customer, then the customer will decide if they want a substitution.

* Can I request a fabric that isn't on your site?

* Do you charge sales tax?

     Sales tax is for Texas residents only. The rate is 8.25%

* I forgot to print my receipt.

     A receipt will be included with your order.

* What if there is a mistake on my charges?

     Contact me as soon as possible so that corrections will be made!

     Your order will be shipped within 24 hours of receiving your order with exceptions like holidays and weekends, otherwise it will be shipped    as soon as possible.

* How do you ship?

     Splinters & Threads will ship international packages via Global Priority Mail to all countries that accept Global Priority Mail.

* Can I track my shipment?

     Yes. Click on "Track your order" located at the top of each page.Enter your order number in the field below. Your order number can be found on your printed reciept or on the confirmation email you received when you placed your order.

* Is my information secure?

Yes, this is a secure site. SplintersandThreads.com uses 128-bit encryption key over Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to provide the highest level of security. SSL provides encryption between web browsers and web servers.

At the 128-bit level, cryptographers consider this encryption, based on the RSA algorithm, impossible to crack as it would take millions of years with the fastest computers to try all the combinations.

Questions about Ordering

* Can I order over the phone?

     Yes!  Phone orders are always welcome! Please dial 1-325-928-9900. Please leave a message if we don't pick up. Have your order and payment method ready when you place the call.

* What payment methods do you offer?

     You may pay by Visa, Master Card, Discover,or Pay Pal. You may pay by personal check, postal order or international money order in US Dollars drawn on a US bank, although we cannot dispatch the goods until payment has been cleared. Simply print out the View? Cart? Checkout page, then mail it to us along with your check, money order or international money order for the total amount. If more information is needed, email us for more information.

* Can I order and wait until payday to pay?

     Yes. Please place your order by phone, then when your payment is received and cleared, your order will be shipped.

* Will I receive a confirmation of my purchase?

      Confirmation of your order is sent immediatedly via email.

* Can I cancel my order?

     Orders can be cancelled. If the order has been shipped, follow the instructions for placing a return.

Questions about Returns

* Can I return something?

     Yes. Splinters & Threads wants each of our customers completely safisfaction. We have a 30-day return policy on items with which you are not satisfied . Please notify us within 7 days of any discrepancy.  You will be issued an RTA.  You then will have 30 days to return the item.  You MUST have an RTA to return anything. Refunds will be issued once items are returned to us. There will be no refunds issued for shipping & handling charges. There will be a 20% restocking fee charged for returns. No sale items and cut yardage may be returned. All returns must be in original condition and packaging. Returned goods must not have a smoke odor to them and must be returned in a saleable condition. Returned items that have a smoke odor or that are dirty will not be refunded. Quilt club membership fees are non-refundable. Patterns and books may not be returned due to copyright laws.

* How do I get my money back on a return?

      After an item has been returned and examined, OKed and goes back into stock, $$ wil be credited back to you determined on the method of payment you choose.
