Quilt Tops for our Troops

This will be an ongoing project but here is how the idea started:

On Feb 4 2009 my mother just received a call from our Governor's mother asking for quilts for our troops that the governor wants to give to injured military members in a ceremony in April.  That call sparked the idea for my mom and I to head up an effort called "Tops for our Troops".  For now, she and I will be doing the quilting and depending on the response we may start calling for other quilters.  What better way to show your appreciation to the sacrifices that have been made for our freedom.  It is just like sending a personal hug.

How can you help?  There are several ways:

  1. Send us a quilt top that you make either alone or with a group of friends.  (desired size minimum of 60" x 72")
  2. Send us a completed quilt.
  3. Send us Blocks. Blocks can be whatever size and we can work around them.  They can be pieced, embroidered or appliqued.
  4. Help us pay for supplies:  fabric, thread, batting, quilting
  5. Send us supplies.
  6. Help us with binding or with the quilting.

Requirements:  High quality 100% cotton.  Colors don't have to be red / white / blue, but please use colors and fabrics that will be desirable to a variety of people.
